Today was our first days. My first day in high school after a decade in elementary and her first day in kindergarten. We both had wonderful days. Cannot wait to see how the rest of the year goes!

I had one more item on my to do list and it was to pass Praxis 5205 once the school year was over. Happy to say I’ve added the early literacy endorsement to my license. Feeling great!.

As I reflect on this school year, one important factor remains, this team. This was a year full of success because of collaboration, planning, and support for each other. I wouldn’t have wanted to successfully complete this school year without them.

This crew was truly special. I’ll miss each one of them, but I know they’re prepared for middle school. Another wonderful group of students to add to my forever family.

Celebrating our fifth graders with a dance. The kids loved all of our old tunes and the new as well! Thank you PTO for this wonderful memory with our kids.

Mini mall is such a fun 5th grade tradition. Students are able to create businesses, execute running their business, and collaborate with peers to be successful. It is a fun time!

Started our day getting pied in the face. Our students made businesses and some businesses had raffles. Mrs. Teeter and I agreed to be pied in the face for two raffles. For the kids!

We may not have won today’s Field Day, BUT I am incredibly proud of this crew right here. The level of kindness, sportsmanship, collaboration, and teamwork was at its absolute highest. I’m incredibly honored to be their fifth grade teacher!

Such a fun tradition. Kindy 500 was so exciting and a great way for the entire school to cheer on our smallest turtles. Congrats to Green Flash for winning the 2025 Kindy 500!

Our newest project is designing our own sneakers. Students researched popular brands, had to stay within budget including staff and materials to create the shoe. Students created their own price point to earn profits. They are working on marketing their sneakers as well!

Today was the end result of the many late nights, sacrifices of not being there for bed time, projects, internship hours, and much more. I gained a new family through this process that I can lean on and cannot wait to see the impact we have within education. We did Cohort 42!

MTE 5th graders had a chance to learn from @ClayTrojans 6th graders. Those 6th graders were in their seats just last year at MTE. Thank you for the visit. Our students are so excited to become Trojans.

I enjoy when I can slip in a bit of me into our daily morning meeting messages. They helped me decide on her birthday gift and are so excited to hear about her day tomorrow.

Teacher for the Day has begun. Students are given an opportunity to teach us a new skill or about a subject they’re passionate about. Today we had a lesson about basketball and cross-stitching.

I wished we could have had the full experience of Starbooks with the full setup (state testing still happening), but this was a wonderful experience. Cannot wait to enjoy book clubs.
