This #TeacherAppreciationWeek, we say THANK YOU to the educators who've worked so hard in recent weeks to ensure students continue to learn and grow during this period of remote learning. Grateful for everything you do to support Massachusetts' national leadership in education.

An emotional ending to EDU 320! Who better to be in our final module than Mr. Rogers!? He once said, “the best teacher in the world is someone who loves what he/she does and just loves it in front of you” (Rogers, 1999). Let’s remember to show our LOVE of STEM!! #EDU320chat

My favorite quote from my document: “Science needs to be hands-on, and students must be engaged in doing, exploring, explaning, and evaluating” (Barrett-Zahn, 2019, p.1). Inquiry Science is the BEST science!! Let students lead the discussions! 🌎#EDU320chat

The Massachusetts Bay Colony passed the first law in the New World requiring that children be taught to read and write 378 years ago today, setting the stage for universal, free, compulsory public-school education in Massachusetts.

While this crisis is forcing us to reconsider our educational priorities, it is becoming abundantly clear that high-stakes standardized testing is not one of them. When this is over, I hope we call all say goodbye to this flawed system of accountability. #education #COVID19

#EDU320chat Like a certain professor always says, “everybody maths”! If a student says that they are “bad at math”, follow John Urschel’s advice and “encourage resilience in the face of failure”. Mistakes mean you are learning!

April is Autism Awareness Month and tomorrow is Autism Awareness Day. Please try to remember that it is just as much about acceptance as it is awareness.

Throwing it back to #MTH143 for all my #EDU320 friends! This multiplication method changed my life! It’s also how my friends at my pre-practicum learned multiplication!

Teachers at home...the Box Method is excellent. In this photo, Method #1 is how many adults learned mult. in school. I showed both methods to my daughter and she INSTANTLY understood #2. And liked it. #iteachmath #MTBoS #homeschooling #mathathome #mathchat

What surprises me about the Math CCSS is how it helps students expand their thinking and help them learn new strategies for solving mathematics problems! #EDU320
