Word work is in full swing here in second!

Just a class full of proud #mathematicians! Today I asked, "how many shapes to do you see?" And "Use an equation to show how you see them." My mind was 🤯 hearing and seeing all their many different responses!

We ended our theme week as superheroes. We celebrated what a SUPER year they've had in kindergarten. I am so amazed by their resilience and progress!

The countdown continued with beach day!

We love Mo Willems! We have read so many of his books this year, and the kids did an amazing job during their readers theater on Piggie and Elephant day!

Yesterday was such a fun day at Camp Learned A Lot! These kindergarteners have worked so hard this year and have grown so much. It was a blast watching them work together as they reviewed through fun camping themed activities!

When you catch your kinder doing math equations during free time in the morning, your teacher heart flutters! 🧡 So proud!

Another day, another math game. Making the best of our virtual learning days! Students chose 4 numbers between 10&20 to write down. I showed them a double ten frame card. They had to identify the number on the card and search for it on their board. First one to cross off 4 won!

We also had some math fun with one of our favorite games- the pom pom toss! We do this game with sight words, letters, numbers, ten frames, cvc words... We love kindergarten!

Today is such a special and important day. Today, I made sure my students know how capable they are. Today, I made sure my students know how important they are. Today, I made sure my students know how meaningful it is to dream big!

A little CVC word fun today! Name the picture, tap the word, write the word, and of course go "ice skating."

What a great FriYAY! Kindergarteners began their day taking turns and giving hints while playing "guess what?" They found and wrote the missing vowel for words, and they had AMAZING number talks in our small groups! They are ready for a read aloud, movie day, and the weekend!

Kindergarten has been doing so well learning from home about animals and what they need that we decided to end our day with a fun directed drawing of a raccoon. I've got some talented students!

First snow fall of the season. We had to get out and catch some flakes! It's the little things that matter and bring joy!

#Welovemath! Today I made a twist to one of our favorite games, memory. We played "making 5 memory." The cards they flipped over had to be a way to create 5. Students did AMAZING identifying numbers, counting on, and composing numbers. #Kindergarten @EndeavourJBMDL
