I'm spending the early hours of the afternoon reveling in the amazing work my junior scholars did for their Transcendental projects last month. It has been a tough few weeks pregnancy-wise, so grading has taken a spot on the back burner for this group in order to save energy...

At nine months pregnant, I started my day seated in a circle with a group of sophomores and juniors while we dropped everything and read. Scholars read Hawthorne, Achebe, Wilde, and Lo for fun and for school while I opted for an exercise in unlearning what I thought I knew.✌❤📚

We wanted to take a moment and thank the students attending The Village School in North Naples. The Collier County Sheriff’s Office received more than 60 thank-you notes addressed to our officers on Monday.

PSA: If you use Google Forms to give an assessment, I highly recommend grading them question by question, as opposed to student by student, because...ya know, grading equity and what-not. 🙃
