A previous student asked “Can I come practice teaching to your class?” Next thing I know she’s reading, teaching about kindness, and pulling small groups to support Ss on a send off task. Already so proud of the amazing teacher she will be one day ❤️

Our principal celebrated a student's differences WHICH led us to read this book WHICH led us to one of the most powerful discussions of race, disabilities, abilities, and everything in-between. Words can't express how meaningful today's "work" was, for all of us #TeachableMoments

As we celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month through art, SO many students shared their own cultural experiences and values. I can't think of a better way to end our day than to learn together about topics that mean so much to us. #CelebrateDifferences #CelebrateYou

A2: Asking students specifically what they like to read. Also just having conversations with students in small group Google Meets about books can reveal a lot about what they like, what excites them, and what they are more engaged in #ACSDReadsAtHome

Virtual resources are a big help when we cannot get physical books to children. But I think the biggest piece of getting kids to read at home is having books that they're interested in available to them in some way, shape, or form. #ACSDReadsAtHome

A3: Self-assessment helps keep students engaged and invested.I used it more with our goal setting i.e. students each set fluency goals for themselves and then each day would fill out a Google form self-assessing how they did with their goal. #ACSDOnline
