Today we had a lot of fun learning about the force of gravity, building some parachutes, and testing them out! 🪂 @Lead_Mine

These sunny days have been perfect for making observations about our shadows and for creating sundials to track the movement of the sun throughout the day! @Lead_Mine

Our fun Friday activity this week was experimenting with chemical changes. There was a lot of excitement as our cups bubbled over and we compared what we saw to the physical changes we tested last week. #sciencefun @Lead_Mine

After learning about the states of matter and physical changes, we had an ice cube melting race today. We had lots of good conversations about heat, energy, molecules, friction, and some laughs along the way! @Lead_Mine

Today was our first introduction to division with a 3 Act Task. They knew how long a rope was and how many inches one knot took up. They had to figure out how many knots could fit on the rope. They came up with so many great strategies all on their own! #proudteacher 🙌🏼

We practiced our estimation skills by building candy corn catapults. We measured how far the candy corn went and then reflected to see if our estimates were reasonable. @Lead_Mine

The kids were so excited that they moved!

Fridays are perfect for a STEM project! We used our knowledge of the skeletal and muscular systems to create a model of a hand. 🖐🏽@Lead_Mine

We had a lot of fun learning about the muscluar system by experimenting and observing what happens to our muscles when they are moving. #sciencefun 💪🏼@Lead_Mine

I was checking my email at the end of the day and saw this comment left on a Google Classroom assignment. How did they know I needed this today? I have the sweetest kids!🥺 #lovemyjob

Today our science lesson about the skeletal system turned into a math lesson when students added up their groups of bones to see if they counted a total of 206! 🦴💀 @Lead_Mine

We had so much fun practicing multiplication this week! We played Wipe Out, made multiplication fortune tellers, used spinners, and used pop-its to practice our arrays! #mathfun @Lead_Mine

It was such a busy week that I have not had time to share our back to school adventures, but it was an awesome week! I can already tell that we are going to have the BEST year!! ❤️🐆 @Lead_Mine

The classroom is set and I cannot wait to see all of my third graders tomorrow! I'm so excited!! 😃 @Lead_Mine

The Marathon in the Mine was so much fun with this team today! It was such a great way to get the school year started. It's going to be a great year! 🤩
