Lsat week Y3 and Y4 learnt about some Easter traditions in Spain and made a Mona de Pascua while practicing using the verb 'Tiene' = It has.

Spanish enrichment @HaxbyRoad has been all about Spanish games this half term. Last week we played Spanish card games using real Spanish cards and this week we played Juego de la Oca - Game of the Goose. #hrspanish

More churros please! Y5 @HaxbyRoad have been food tasting this week. We tried gazpacho, churros, aceitunas, pipas, tortilla, pan and jamón. We also made sure we used me gusta for singular nouns and me gustan for plural. A very tasty lesson! #hrspanish

Y6 @HaxbyRoad were star performers this week in Spanish. They read, understood and performed a play in Spanish full of tricky conjugated verbs. So impressed by their confidence and enthusiasm for reading aloud in another language! #hrspanish

We continued learning tricky sounds in Spanish this week in Y2 @HaxbyRoad Using @SueCave4 physical Spanish phonics, we played sneaky swapper, picture thief and matching pairs to practice remembering the sounds and matching letters. #hrspanish

Y6 @HaxbyRoad have been learning to conjugate the verb 'IR'. We played a coin flick game, did a conjugation rap and made a verb bugs to help us remember the conigations. #hrspanish

Y4 @HaxbyRoad have been learning to talk about pets. They enjoyed a three in a row game in pairs and this week, we conducted a whole class survey to find out what the most popular pet was. #hrspanish

Food tasting in Y5 @BandBschool went down a treat today! We tried gazpacho, pipas, tortilla, aceitunas, pan, jamón and our favourite - churros! #bandbspanish We used 'me gusta' and 'me gustan' to describe the singular and plural foods. ¡Qué rico!

Y6 @BandBschool used their knoweldge of conjugations to read, understand and perform a play today called '¡Vamos a la fiesta!' (Let's go to the party!). What an amazing, confident performance from everyone and super team work too. #bandbspanish
