At 13 I went into care. At 16 I was kicked out of care & went back to an unstable situation. At 18 I studied law at uni. At 25 I was called to the Bar. At 26 I secured Pupillage. In interviews, I took pride in who I am & where I come from. It’s what formed the advocate within me.

Dammit! Whole second week of half term and the first day back at work will be spent in isolation, for me and my little one. Good job mummy can be quite creative with games and crafts.

Absolutely loved teaching this project to our year 6’s! We had so many meaningful discussions and expanded our knowledge too.
Here is a showcase of our learning from Year 5 and 6. During the project called ‘Inequality’, the children studied this theme from the past and present. The art work is inspired by the historical Kingdom of Benin and Chris Ofili’s ‘No woman, no cry’. 🎨 ✍️

Can’t do this at school on Thursday as I spend the day with my daughter so we’ll be trying this at home instead!
Reminder - Thursday is take your colander to work day. 11.13 BST on Thursday go outside with your pupils and safely observe partial eclipse by looking at the pattern on the ground as the sun shines through the holes in the colander. 🌞

I have a little one who is incredibly excited about our trip to @TwinlakesPark today! Can’t believe she starts school in September so I’m going to enjoy making memories between now and then on my days off.

Little one wanted a story after lunch and this is what she brought me from her shelf on the bookcase. Diversity and teaching about it starts at home and I’m continuing to diversify my daughters books as often as I can.

My daughter has been asking if it’s time for her swimming lesson yet for almost an hour. Only 90 mins until we leave 🙈 I’m so pleased she’s excited to get back in the pool and she wants to try really hard to be the best she can be.

Lots of people went shopping or to the pub today. We did the opposite and enjoyed the wonderful outdoors @BeltonHouseNT we saw deer, enjoyed the spring flowers and most of all enjoyed time together as a family. #EveryoneNeedsNature #EasterHolidays #MakingMemories

Started this tonight. Only 4 chapters in but I know my class and I are going to have some incredible conversations and learn so much from this book by @sharonmdraper can’t wait to introduce them to it in just over a weeks time!

Yeah of course you can have your friend over to play on the garden - it’s lovely a sunny (said at 11am). Friend arrived just after 2pm and it’s now snowing... sat outside in the snow wasn’t quite how I pictured my afternoon...

Easter Monday and we have small flurries of snow ❄️ what happened to the sunshine??? 😂 it’ll be waterproof trousers and snow boots to keep little one warm for our trip to the park this morning!
