This past week my sophomore students worked on writing an escape room short story. They had to come up with characters, a setting, and plot for their stories. Now, they will be using their completed stories to create an escape room in their math class! #CHSJourneyForward

Today, juniors had their public presentation of their Harlem Renaissance PBL! They have been working hard on this in English class and Coach Gamble’s History class! They used the Har. Ren. as inspiration to create a piece of art to represent themselves. #CHSJourneyForward

Today senior students voted on the best sword props and then used those to act out the final scenes of Macbeth! We saw some good acting today! #CHSJourneyForward

Senior Ss have been creating prop swords for us to use when acting out the final scenes from Macbeth! They had to choose a character to create the sword for and incorporate colors that represent that character. #CHSJourneyForward

Yesterday, 10th grade Ss participated in a four corners anticipation guide. They responded to statements related to the ideas we’ll be analyzing in the memoir Night by Elie Wiesel. They did a great job expressing their ideas and listening to each other! #CHSJourneyForward

Senior students began reading Macbeth this week! They created party invitations to the next meeting of the three witches, and they had to capture the mood created by the witches so far in the play! #CHSJourneyForward

Yesterday, 10th graders created graffiti boards to answer questions about the “single stories” we have in life. These were based on the TEDTalk “The Danger of a Single Story” from Chimamanda Adichie. #CHSJourneyForward

12th grade students began their “Full Story” presentations today! They are explaining how a group of people has been misrepresented in society and what is the full story about those people. They are doing a great job sharing their ideas and research! #CHSJourneyForward

10th graders have been creating body biographies about themselves. They had to include 5 symbols to represent themselves, 5 adjectives that describe them, and 3 quotes/song lyrics they relate to. They’ve done a great job displaying their creativity! #CHSJourneyForward

Today 10th grade wrote commentary for each line of the poem “Written in Pencil in the Sealed Railway Car.” They then revised each other’s commentary to try and improve it. #CHSJourneyForward
