A poor leader will often see conflict/disagreement as a personal attack on them, but this is rarely the case. It is often people with passion speaking up or maybe burned out. Whether or not they're right, hear them out. Its about relation-ships not being right-ships.

Teacher retention will be an even bigger issue this year, which is saying A LOT! if you want to keep the best teachers, treat them like they are the best. Few teachers leave an environment where they feel valued, supported, appreciated, and treated like professionals.

Cultural competence requires facing internal conflict and emotions that you may not have noticed. It’s a journey that takes time to learn & grow. It takes courage to ask respectful questions & be willing to hear the answers & learn.
