Best. Day. Ever. These lucky kiddos got a response from Sharon Creech!! Not only did they get all their questions answered, the class got an original poem written just for them! The signed bookmarks were an extra special treat! This is a class memory we will remember forever🥰
Today, we wrote letters to the author of “Love That Dog,” Sharon Creech! Watching these sweet kiddos make text-to-self connections and cite evidence through their letters left me in awe! 🤩 They even incorporated figurative language that we have been working on in class!

Who says test prep has to be boring?! Today we did a review egg hunt to prepare for the state test tomorrow! We also listened to The Smart Cookie and created some motivational posters!

We ❤️ “Alexander Hamilton Day” Today, we became colonists & worked to earn money for our beloved tea & cookies! Then King George III imposed taxes on us!😱 Their reactions were priceless! Such a fun way to learn about our community while also experiencing how the colonists felt

Getting outside of my comfort zone! Today I challenged my students to collaborate & persevere to create props for our upcoming play! Their excitement & smiles were contagious as they previewed our upcoming text & started their hands-on projects! Loved seeing their perspectives

Building our class culture in room 224! Today’s Habit of Character: Collaboration🤩 Students worked together to create a poster about a section of our text! They then got to share their hard work with the class! We are loving module 3 & learning from one another!

We LOVED having Butler Tech NSC Educators visit our class today! They brought some of their animals to show us their awesome defenses! We loved this real world connection to our current reading module☺️🐾

It might only be November, but my ROAR block is tackling RACES test writing already! We even added some text features to show our knowledge of our current standard! These kiddos definitely worked hard today and are ready for Thanksgiving break!❤️

Engagement was high during our language dive today🤩 Students worked collaboratively to match vocabulary words to their definitions! Students then used arrows to create “vocab connection puzzles” to demonstrate how each vocab word relates to one another.

Poem Presentations are my favorite! Students had the option to present, make a video, sing their poem, or write it in their native language! I was SO impressed with their creativity & ownership over their own learning! What a great way to wrap up module 1🤩
