Grade 1/2 had so much fun making their Math Malas. We have a lot of great tasks planned for the next few weeks using this tool. Including developing a growth mindset and solving math problems! @GWSHinder thanks for the wonderful idea!

What better way to discuss kindness then plant flowers? Today we discussed how kind words help plants grow and flourish, just like when we talk to our friends. These plants are a reminder to use kind words towards all living things 💕 #pinkshirtday

Yesterday grade 1/2 worked on grouping and skip counting by doing animal word problems. They did so well that I’ll have to turn it up a notch and really challenge them next week!

It’s only fitting that grade 1/2 has started to learn about the Inuit with the weather like ours! Today we painted the Northern lights to help us get excited.

Update: we can make clay float! Grade 1/2 were challenged to take a sinking ball of clay and make it float. After many trials, most of us were able to make clay boats that even held nickels!
