Telling children who love graphic novels that "graphic novels do not help you grow as a reader," is not true and diminishes the children right along with the books. Reading doesn't belong to school. It belongs to readers. Value them!

Another reason every school needs a librarian. Great article on why school librarians are needed for students to strengthen #infolit skills.
If school librarians facilitate student-led inquiry at least weekly, that dramatically improves the odds that students have been taught the full range of essential information literacy skills.
