I used to be young, then a mechanic, then an author, then a television broadcaster. Now I am old. And all I've come to know only confirms I know nothing at all.
Lost. Mostly lost.

Wordle 1,480 3/6. β¬π©π¨β¬π¨.β¬π©π©π©π©.π©π©π©π©π©. It is with a sense of great trepidation that I attempt to explain to whatshisname, the engineer one, that I thought he said βlet the competition by,β and not βdonβt let the competition by.β I mean itβs only a loss of one place!.

Must say, mβcolleague @MrDavidHobbs was all over this story. Admittedly, this particular pre-race storyline did take fifteen years to pay off, but thatβs an example of true faith for you, right there. Well played Hobbo!.

Many years ago, I recall Ross Brawn telling me this; said I had a way of calming drivers when they were not having a good day. As every driver I worked with was perpetually irked by Michaelβs pace, I was given considerable opportunity to practice my improving counseling skills.
@MrSteveMatchett The narrator of this wonderful audio book has such a soothing voice.

This audiobook will change your life. Iβve even heard reports that hardbitten grand prix drivers have learned a thing or two from this book, listening to it while soaking in an ice bath in their teamβs tire storage bay. That sort of thing happens very frequently in F1 by the way.

Wordle 1,477 6/6. β¬β¬β¬β¬π¨.β¬π¨β¬π©β¬.π¨π©β¬π©π¨.π¨π©β¬π©π©.β¬π©π©π©π©.π©π©π©π©π©. I was so crammed and cramped inside that stoopid car of theirs, it felt like something had wrapped me in ropes and squeezed the air out of me. Certainly, I did not feel like a well oiled machine.

Wordle 1,476 4/6. β¬β¬β¬β¬π©.β¬β¬β¬β¬π©.β¬π©β¬β¬π©.π©π©π©π©π©. I canβt get the hang of these things. I shared this with old thingy, the mechanic one, and he suggested I give drag racing a go. Mind you, he warned, Iβd still need to get off the line without stalling, so maybe not.

Open mic. Read book.
You heard it here first, the pros use vocal straws, nebulizers, and a jaw massager. Right, @vikasadam? Tell us what your warm-up routine looks like in your narration process. #ACXUniversity

Wordle 1,472 3/6. β¬β¬π©π©β¬.β¬β¬β¬π¨π¨.π©π©π©π©π©. I asked old thingy, the mechanic one, not to ask about lap two. Honestly, you take your eyes off the ball for a split nanosecond, and something stoopid happens. Itβs exactly like those folks who attempt Wordle without coffee.

Yes, an emotional win for the team, no question, and quite the personal moment too: the first time a Matchett prepared car secured a Formula 1 victory. Anything is possible providing one is prepared to give everything (and then some) in order to make it happen. There is no try.
@MrSteveMatchett THEY SHOWED STEVE MATCHETT AT THE END OF THE AUSTRIAN GRAND PRIX!!!. Part of the Sky/ESPN promo for the British Grand Prixπ¬π§ποΈ

Wordle 1,471 3/6. β¬β¬π¨β¬β¬.β¬π©β¬β¬π¨.π©π©π©π©π©. I tried to make light of the loss of second place by amusingly blaming the carβs lack of traction, its lack of power, its unstable braking. Old thingy, the mechanic one, assured me Iβm naturally gifted with the comedic arts.

Wordle 1,470 4/6. π©β¬β¬β¬β¬.π©π©β¬β¬π©.π©π©β¬β¬π©.π©π©π©π©π©. This race really tried hard to confuse me. Its efforts paid off too, I had no idea what was happening. I mean, yes, sure, I could have listened to whatshisname, the engineer one, but what would he know about anything?.
