Key Seat is one of those terms that became meaningless with overuse in much of the media's coverage of the last election, but it really holds true for the Federal electorate of Parramatta. This will be one to watch in 2025! /end thread #auspol #Parramatta

Finally, the link to the ABC's coverage of the Parramatta electorate from the last Federal election: https://t.co/NZcZkmRAOp

All of these tweets (and my subsequent frantic AEC checking) were sparked by this post from Liberal candidate Katie Mullens: #auspol #electorate #Parramatta

So what does this all mean? Well if anyone followed me during the last election, I unfortunately can't give live updates focused solely on the electorate of Bennelong. I must now focus on Parramatta; an electorate that, until this tweet, I've only spelt with one r. #auspol

Amusingly, the ABC's coverage of the last Federal election makes fun of how often the seat of Paramatta changes its boundaries between one election to the next. #auspol #parramatta

It turns out the post was one of the Federal candidates for Paramatta pictured smiling one of the many burger shops in Ermington! That's because THIS MONTH the AEC updated the electoral boundaries to move Ermington (or at least parts of it) from Bennelong to Paramatta. #auspol

I jumped onto Facebook this evening and found a local community post from a candidate shaking hands down at the shops near where I live. Up until this point, I had assumed I still lived in the federal electorate of Bennelong. Turns out I was dead wrong. #auspol

There's an old saying that goes: "You can take the journo out of the newsroom, but you can't take the newsroom away from the journo." ...Well at least it's a saying I try to live by. #auspol

I'm not saying a coin commemorating Countdown is a bad thing, but that show last aired in 1987. Have we run out of things to mint commemorative coins out of?
The Royal Australian Mint is releasing new commemorative coins to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Australian television show Countdown. New coins are also being released to commemorate the many animals who have served in wars.

It's hard to imagine a more broadly beloved larrikin than Jack Karlson. Anyone who watches the original video views him as a hero or a martyr to the cause. Vale to a real one
Sad news: Mr Democracy Manifest has died. The cultural icon, whose arrest inspired a thousand t-shirts and millions of downloads, had advanced cancer. His immortal words will echo thru generations: βWhat is the charge..eating a meal, a succulent Chinese meal?!!β Vale Jack Karlson
