Last night Charles Rucker was sworn in as an At-Large Park Commissioner. He was chosen by Park Commissioners at a public meeting on Nov. 13 after former Commissioner Alicia D. Crudup resigned due to a move outside Minneapolis.

Applications are being accepted for a vacant At-Large Park Commissioner position through Thursday, Nov. 9 at 12 pm. A special meeting of the Board of Commissioners will convene Monday, Nov. 13 at 6 pm to fill the position. More info/application here:

With this week's hot weather, we're asking anyone who can to help out MPRB forestry crews and water trees along Minneapolis streets. Last week they filled 3,700 watering bags for newly planted trees - but they can't do it alone!

Due to current air quality, all active outdoor programs are cancelled today, June 28, 2023. This includes sports leagues and active outdoor activities. All participants will be notified if an activity is cancelled. Music and Movies, swimming, golf are still on.

Due to current air quality, all outdoor programming in Minneapolis parks is canceled today, June 14, 2023. Cancellations include Music and Movies in the Park events, athletic field rentals and events and outdoor activities for youth and adults.

Today Gov. Walz signed the state infrastructure bill into law on West River Parkway Regional Trail. It helps fund the Grand Rounds Missing Link, a new Cedar-Riverside rec center and improvements for the regional trail system. We appreciate the support for our parks and trails!
