When I was in high school my mom was diagnosed with bone cancer and was told she had 4 months left to live. Thanks to modern science we got another 14 years. This morning, after a very long and brave fight, my mom passed away.

One year ago today Otto was recovering from an extensive surgery to remove a plastic wrapper he ate. He still tries to eat plastic. I’m much more vigilant now about cleaning up and tell everyone who visits to be careful with wrappers. He’s worth it.
