Peak breakfast. The white stuff is a cheese that I can only seem to find in Egypt. It’s just milk and rennet. It’s delicious.

I dislike the term pragmatism as it’s used in software. It’s more of a feeling than a well rationalised argument, but the more I hear it, the more it brushes against my intuition. For example, how many rushed, ill-conceived ideas have become established concepts in a software.

Great read on OOP and object behaviour in contexts. FWIW, I think I would probably opt for the specialised classes rather than the DSL approach in these examples provided, assuming the problem domain called for that level of separation.

I’m starting to realise that a person’s preferences, in terms of programming styles, paradigms, and concepts, may be affected by their philosophical orientation; or at least the philosophical orientation of the social context they were raised in. I would be curious to know how.

I’m realising more and more that encapsulation is one of the most important aspects of any large software project, and the most abused in Rails apps.
