This afternoon we extended their exploratory play by adding a bowl of shaving foam coloured with a few drops of pink paint. At first the children pretended it was ice cream! 🍦🍧🍨 #MessyPlay #Roleplay #Exploration #STEM

During their play at the water tray the children noticed that the flowers floated but the gem stones sank to the bottom. Some of the girls spent a time experimenting with a wooden fish. They tried to make it sink by balancing lots of gem stones on it #STEM #CauseAndEffect #Play

We continued our interest in fairies and fairyland today by making fairy potions outdoors in the messy kitchen. We used wild flowers along with coloured water, sparkly gem stones and filled up a range of different containers 🧚♀️🌷🌸🌺🌼💦 #PlayIsTheWayFC #STEM #Exploration

We made the most of the shade in the front playground yesterday afternoon and took some resources outside where it was lovely and cool. Here we are making out own chalk paint. We independently grated chalk into tubs and added a tiny amount of water #OutdoorPlay #MessyPlay #Create

Free play outdoors gives the opportunity for lots of experimental play. An old washing up liquid bottle with a small amount of detergent had created bubbles. Some children took the potato mashers from the mud kitchen and used them as bubble makers by blowing through the holes 😍

The small blocks were also popular outside. The boys noticed that they didn't stand up very well in the grass so we moved over to the concrete and used the cable reels as a building platform. #LearningThroughExperience #BlockPlay #PlayOutside

L decided the hotel needed a sign. He got to work naming it the "Ben 10 Hotel" Together the boys decided on a price structure "it's £1 a night for 1 guy and £2 a night for 2 guys" said L . Sounds like a great offer! #imaginativePlay #WorkingTogether #BlocksRock #PlayIsTheWay
