I visited the Opening of Schools meetings for Bent Tree Elementary and Greenglade Elementary to support both schools and their dedicated faculty and staff. I shared words of encouragement as they begin the new academic year and wish both school communities a fantastic year ahead!

This weekend, I joined Commissioner Roberto J. Gonzalez & State Rep. Mike Redondo for a Back-to-School Bash, giving out 500+ backpacks to students & families. Fun activities, snacks, haircuts & more. Thank you to all who made it possible!

Congratulations to our District 8 schools for earning their 2024–2025 STEAM Designation! This marks 10 years of the STEAM Designation Program, recognizing schools that excel in STEAM assessments, offer student experiences, and strengthen community involvement.

A great weekend with Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ incredible leaders at the DASA Conference 2025. This year’s legacy theme was a powerful reminder of the lasting impact of strong leadership.

Deeply saddened by the passing of G. Holmes Braddock, who left us just one day after celebrating his 100th birthday. His dedication to education and our community will never be forgotten. Rest in peace, Mr. Braddock. You will be greatly missed.

The Florida Department of Education released the 2024–2025 School Performance Grades, and for the sixth consecutive year, @MDCPS has proudly earned an “A” rating as a district. Congratulations to all District 8 schools that received an “A” as their official school grade!

Today I attended the Fraternal Order of Police Member Appreciation Luncheon. We honor the dedicated men and women who serve and protect our communities every day. Your sacrifice means so much to us all.

Yesterday I was honored to meet with Northern Ireland’s Minister of Education, Paul Givan along with his team of educational leaders. I’m grateful for the thoughtful discussions and shared dedication to educational excellence.

Congratulations to my dear friend Jeanette Nuñez on being officially approved by the Florida Board of Governors to serve as the seventh president of @FIU. I know her passion and dedication will continue to lead FIU to new heights. Wishing her great success in this new role!
