The Minister said as we approach the Heroes and Defence Forces holidays,the government is alive to the increased risks of road carnage due to increased vehicular movement on our country’s highways.He said ZRP will therefore deploy static roadblocks at strategic positions .

Moreover,each death is the demise of a breadwinner and shattered dreams of surviving this end,there is need for multi-sectoral and multi-disciplinary coordination ,clear lines of institutional responsibility,accountability and seamless collaboration.

Yesterday’ accident was a stark reflection on the situation on our roads .Accidents have literally become more deadly largely as a result of speeding .Each death as a result of road carnage has far reaching social and economic implications.

In his speech,he said the Indaba takes place under a very dark cloud of National grief following yesterday’s unfortunate loss of 18 precious lives.Such accidents demand that each one of us to pose and ponder very hard over our actions.

@HeraldZimbabwe @PoliceZimbabwe Mr Munodawafa pointed out that misjudgment,following too close,speeding,reversing errors,failure to give way,overtaking errors,turning and parking errors as the causes of accidents.From the above it is clear that most of these accidents are a result of human errors.

@HeraldZimbabwe @PoliceZimbabwe Mr. Munesu Munodawafa ,the managing director of the Traffic Safety Council gave a solidarity speech at the Workshop,giving a sad picture of the accident statistics in the country.He said on average 5 people die everyday on our roads with 38 people being injured on a daily basis.

The Secretary for Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage, Ambassador R.T. Faranisi today officially opened the Smart Traffic Management System Sensitization workshop in Kadoma.This came after cabinet considered and approved this home grown system designed by Telone,ZRP and HIT.

The late Cde Luke Mushore started his political activism at Bernard Muzeki College in Marondera. He briefly worked in Chiweshe before moving to Muzarabani, where he late joined the Liberation Struggle. The President said 'zvaida vakashinga moyo'.
