Retirement #2 Can’t begin to tell you how amazing.Team ARD are We worked on the frontline during the pandemic - staff were stressed and frightened .We worked together to make changes because of safeguarding issues and went from CQC requires improvement to good These are my heroes

But then again is this World Cup seminal for highlighting LGBT 🏳️🌈 rights which are lacking in many of the participating nations? There are no one love armbands on the pitch- women have worn them visibly in their roles- but it is now a global conversation @NELFT_LGBT.

My mum’s friend Stella from Cameroon 🇨🇲 also cooked delicious food for mums 80th birthday on Saturday - but LGBT rights are also poor there.

I am torn apart by this World Cup Normally I put a little bet on the black stars 🇬🇭 & they did so well today @nelftemn & I was extra tic However I am also an ally for @NELFT_LGBT and being gay would also not be acceptable if they won the World Cup.

I am in awe of my colleagues @ard_nelft who can work weave-in every day It took all my power to not give up and throw everything in the bin when my child told me tonight they needed hair like this for tomorrow morning

Most powerful my cousin introduced his beautiful teenage daughter on Facebook with ❤️ trans messages As an ex military veteran I was concerned about how his colleagues would react but every single one said respect brother.
On #NationalComingOutDay its important to say its ok if your not ready to come out, as a staff network we are here for all our LGBTQ+ colleagues and will support you regardless @NELFT

I will also always love my mum for asking me are you gay? I will always stand with you if you are because you might face hate & prejudice from others. I wasn’t but I knew from that moment she would always embrace my friends family and future children and challenge discrimination.

Forgot to send mine At 14 in the early 80s my best friend came out to me She didn’t know how to say it so she wrote a poem- it started ‘I was going to sleep on the floor tonight but then I decided not to’ It was about the conflict & challenge making different choices brought her.

Love my HCSW Respect Approach meeting @ard_nelft Voices on the ground are my expert quality checkers Discussed racist abuse from a patient that hadn’t been reported because the patient lacked capacity I stressed the need to report so support can be offered to staff it impacts on.
