The JMOD and the U.S. DOD signed a Project Arrangement concerning Cooperative Research on Unmanned Underwater Vehicle Resilience (Underwater Obstacle Avoidance) on June 27. This project will conduct cooperative testing in real sea areas and evaluation of the test results.

The 7th Japan-ASEAN, Timor-Leste & the 3rd Pacific Island Countries Ship Rider Cooperation Programs (#SRCP) kicked off on June 14. JS ISE set sail with naval & coast guard officers from a record 19 countries. It’s part of #JMOD/#JSDF efforts to promote a #FreeandOpenIndoPacific!

On June 14, PVM Kaneko received a briefing aboard JS ISE, a destroyer of the JMSDF Sasebo District. He exchanged views with the Commandant and toured the ship. He encouraged the crew of Escort Flotilla 4 and JS ISE and saw it off as it departed for the Indo-Pacific Deployment.
