Delighted that the Montgomery Planning Board listed the Rose-Budd House on the Locational Atlas and recommended it for designation to the Master Plan. Educator Perry Budd built this Sandy Spring home in 1912.The nomination will go to County Council in 2026 https://t.co/ZRHUaMrToy

Leaf season is upon us, and our trees are scattering beautiful red and gold leaves...which clog up gutters and drains causing water damage. Use sunny days to clean out your gutters so you aren't worrying about flooding during big storms! #maintenancemonday #historicpreservation

Love a moody, romantic turret? So do we! And there are plenty of them in Montgomery County: ranging from the late 1800s through the mid-century, they are round, hexagonal, and square, with bell roofs and shingles and clapboard, and add whimsy to our architectural landscape. #TBT

Use windy days to find drafts around your home! Check the casing around your window-under the sill, around the trim, and the seal on your doors, and utility penetrations. Save money and improve comfort with a little caulk, weather stripping and insulation! #maintenancemonday

Anyone recognize this site in #Moco? It's from an untagged https://t.co/0Te8irfNUw reel. Identifying a single site can anchor all the photos taken during that plane flight. Check the untagged reels in your community in case your memory+eagle eyes can geo-tag these lost places!

As the official summer season comes to a close, some #throwback photos remind us of Montgomery County's earliest public pools. See the opening of the Chevy Chase Club pool in 1925 and spend the day at the Glen Echo Park beach in the 1940s.

Some of the HP staff were lucky enough to get a behind-the-scenes tour of the Pickets, Protests and Parades: A History of Gay Rights in America exhibition. If you're in D.C. before July 7, head to Freedom Plaza to see the informative and moving exhibit! https://t.co/cAgBXmZPxB

Excited to have this important part of Montgomery County and global civil rights history recognized in the #WashingtonPost. Many thanks to the wonderful owners who requested the designation so together we could preserve this history for the community

Congratulations to the Scotland A.M.E. Zion Church congregation who have completed a painstaking 5 year restoration of their 1924 church, a beacon for worship and advocacy in Potomac. https://t.co/1KJjXDufK2 (Photo circa 2000)

This week's #TBT is inspired by the women at Camp Dismal, whose photos from their annual late 1800s getaway trip have been scanned into the Sandy Spring Museum Archive by Digital Maryland. Check out Sandy Spring's historic dance cards, diaries and letters https://t.co/qVNoIbbb7L
