This one was nearly impossible. Tungiasis 😎 -Tunga penetrans(female sand flea) AKA chigger/jigger -Flea feeds (often under toenails/between toes) and lays eggs, eggs expelled thru host's skin -Inflammation, itching, pain; nodular lesions with black center -Tx - remove flea

We struggled with this one… Aedes aeygpti mosquito 🦟 -Latin translation is “unpleasant” -Tropical, subtropical, temperate climates worldwide including southern US -Most active at dawn and dusk -Yellow fever, Dengue, Zika, Chikungunya -Repellents with 20-30% DEET

Drumroll……… Orf! -Parapoxvirus -AKA “ecthyma contagiousum” = very contagious -Occupational goat/sheep exposure -Single asymptomatic lesion often on hand (multiple if immune deficient) -Spontaneous resolution 6-8 wks -Recurrence after excision is common, typically avoid
