I’m still seeing a lot of ‘Scots isn’t a language’ comments, so I’ve decided to prepare this list of links for anyone who needs some resources/education on the Scots language! .

The reality: getting rejected for jobs because you’re overqualified or not qualified enough. Ending up miserable because you took a job you hate.

I followed this from quite early on and have to say that there were quite a few people who worked particularly hard at uncovering this, and received a *lot* of abuse online as a result from trying to raise awareness.

Never post things that irritate you on Facebook or they’ll come back to irritate you every year. This was a book on the British monarchy where the introduction was woefully inaccurate.

I wonder how much of the rise of far right extremism in England is down to life getting harder since Brexit and the people who voted for it not being able to accept that it might be partially their fault? I just can’t believe they’re falling for Farage again.

I keep seeing adverts for this website pop up advertising ‘hand drawn’ art and it’s all looks very much like AI, yet people are falling for it.

Got a DM on another platform from a guy saying he wanted to take me out for dinner, book a hotel room for us & ‘spoil’ (yes, ‘spoil’) me with money. Sir, that’s sex work.

Every time I see anti-immigration posts and people complaining that immigrants are stealing jobs, I’m reminded of the time my cousin fell out with me after I pointed out to her that our grandmother was an immigrant.

Saw this guy on another platform praising JK for standing up for women’s rights whilst on another post stating that he ‘doubts’ ALL rape cases until the victim can provide SOLID evidence and will assume it’s just regretted sex because most women are liars 🤦🏻♀️.

The Stonehaven Derailment was such an awful disaster caused by severe thunderstorms the night before. It’s good to see Mr Bowie remember this tragedy, but you might be wondering why he left the comments closed on this post.
It’s hard to believe it has been five years since the tragic events at Carmont. I know everyone around the North East will never forget that dreadful day. Thoughts remain, of course and forever with the families of Brett McCullough, Donald Dinnie and Christopher Stuchbury.

The way people are ranting about how the lingerie section of a shop should be a ‘protected female space’ is so ridiculous. And I think it will also make shop staff be more inclined to not offer help going forward to anyone. What a time to be alive.

And finally, if we cast a weary eye back over a millennia before Cnut invaded, we learn that the land was invaded or settled multiple times by different groups of people, including the Anglo-Saxons who gave England its name. In other words - humans have always moved around.

So if we move on to ‘the United Kingdom’ from 1707-present, we will note that revolutionary France invaded at the end of the 18th century and there were a number of attempts during the 20th century world wars to invade. 🤷🏻♀️.
