Responding to emergencies in Malawi. In September, our Integrated Bite Case Management team identified positive rabies cases in Chikwawa, Blantyre and Phalombe districts. Our team got to work with emergency responses to prevent further transmission and keep communities safe.

💉 Vaccination in action 💉 Our amazing team are on the ground administering vaccinations to dogs during our campaign in Cambodia. Through a 70% vaccination coverage in the dog population, we can achieve herd immunity to protect them and the people they live alongside.

WVS Goa are completing a sterilisation and vaccination campaign in Ponda, Goa. 🐕 765 dogs sterilised and vaccinated so far Vaccination and sterilisations together create a safe and stable dog population, which is the best way to reduce canine and human rabies deaths.

Fighting rabies through education 📖 A crucial part of our vaccination campaigns is handing out education leaflets on rabies. This ensures that more people are aware of the dangers of rabies and the steps that can be taken to prevent rabies spreading to humans and other dogs.

Cambodia vaccination drive has commenced! 🐕 Over 150 vaccination teams are currently moving around designated areas in the Provinces of Phnom Penh, Kandal, and Battambang, to vaccinate as many dogs as possible – providing life-saving protection to communities in Cambodia.

Why are we vaccinating dogs? 🐕💉 Dogs are the main source of transmission to humans. 99% of all human rabies deaths globally are the result of an infected dog bite. To stop the spread of rabies to humans we need to stop dogs catching it in the first place.
