Excellent result for the @kentschools_fa U14 Girls: Kent 3️⃣ Middlesex 0️⃣

Of the 81 basketball coaches across the 24 teams at the 2024 Paris @Olympics only 22.2% were women. There were 6 female head coaches and 12 female assistant coaches in the women's competition. There were no female coaches as part of the staff for any of the men's teams.

4/- Considering a Post-16 Academy? Choose an academy where there is good support and advice for your well-being as well as your education. Schools and colleges have trained and qualified education professionals who are experienced in looking after young people.

5/- Considering a Post-16 Academy? Choose an academy that has good facilities. Education is most effective in a proper learning environment, not a football club bar, not a portacabin at the ground, and not a venue where the majority of your learning will be online.

6/- Considering a Post-16 Academy? Be cautious about academies and coaches that promise “pathways to the first team”. Such promises are completely meaningless.

7/- Considering a Post-16 Academy? Be mindful that good educational achievement is often the best route to many football-related pathways (e.g. football scholarships to American universities, sports therapy careers, etc)

8/- Considering a Post-16 Academy? Ask questions about the accountability of the football academy. Are the staff accountable to a senior management team, board of governors, Ofsted (as in a school or college)? Or to nobody apart from the academy owners?
