So thank you @campbellclaret. Thank you for giving me an updated photo that I can show my students every year. Thank you for showing 16 year old me that it was ok to be passionate about Politics and changing my views was ok. Thank you for writing a book on depression.

@campbellclaret Wasn’t what I thought he would be. This fundamentally altered my view on politics and “celebrity.” I realised I agreed with him (although I didn’t admit it at the time) and the way he talked to us about mental health just blew me away…

As you can tell, I was a precocious kid and thought I knew everything but this began to change… I realised I should be open to other views- what my parents said wasn’t gospel… I started to research and think about my own beliefs- That’s when I decided to do a Politics degree!

In politics a level, we were told to join a party and I joined the Tories… my parents were so I thought I was. When he visited I gave him a hard time. I argued and asked questions and finally pulled out my Conservative membership card. I thought I knew what I believed…

3 A Levels, 1 degree, 1 PGCE and 6 years of teaching later and I got to meet @campbellclaret again. He was the first politician I met as a 16 year old and I realised that my views weren’t fixed… that what my parents told me wasn’t gospel. That 16 year old saw and wanted more!

History teachers: Has anyone ever done a scavenger hunt at the Tower of London? I am taking Year 7 on a curriculum day this week and want to guide their tours than just wandering!

Night 3 of the annual family holiday as adult children. Had to abandon our board game because my mother (60 years old) had a tantrum because my dad picked a card she felt she deserved… I ended up walking in to the other room as it was easier 😂😂

My Summer adventure so far… South of France, Portsmouth, London and Nottingham (my old uni!) ❤️ On Saturday I head to Devon for the week and have some fun trips for the last week of summer!

Summer holidays are for discovering new shows right… I stayed on a boat (not a yacht!) in Antibes but I’m now fully invested in Below Deck! 😂😂

I’m not sleeping again and I’m really struggling. Last night I was tossing and turning till 4:30am and the night before 2:30am. I tried everything and eventually had to take a pill. In Nov, the dr said there’s no reason why I shouldn’t be and referred me to therapy… advice?
