A great evening presenting at the @stacshq event all about @KirkmichaelPS receiving the Equitable Coding Award from @Schools_Digital and how we have embedded coding across the school! Such a moment I never thought I would have at this stage of my career! My name for all to see!

After going bowling earlier, having a #weeponder about if bowling technology could be replicated using @microbit_edu radio frequency and the machine learning AI to detect which had fallen down…. Any ideas from any MicroBit experts out there on how to begin this? @AJOBPickard

What a year it has been!! It has been so fantastic to work on achieving these awards and deliver coding activities!! So proud of us all!!!
Between June 2024 and June 2025,Kirkmichael Primary and EYC managed to achieve 7 Digital Schools Awards between then. We are so SO proud of all the efforts of our pupils and staff to achieve these, and are excited to continue our digital journey! @Schools_Digital @SACTechDigital

So so proud of us all, especially my digital ambassadors group and the kids who helped out with our digital validation visit! What a year it’s been, and we won’t stop there!!!.

So much fun doing this today!!.
For our PE, P1-7 linked fitness with using @microbit_edu by using them as dice. After picking 6 fitness activities, they used the Microbit dice to randomly select an activity to do! Lots of collaboration and focus during this!! @SACTechDigital @stacshq @AJOBPickard

Our step-a-thon was a success. P3-7 were able to record the steps they took using their Microbit, and we are looking forward to using the results for our maths after the holiday - thanks @AJOBPickard for the idea! We also spoke about the accuracy of counting! @KirkmichaelPS

Lots of curiosity from P1/2 @KirkmichaelPS as they spotted the @microbit_edu that P3-7 will use next week. We had a look at them, identified similarities/differences between a laptop/codeable toys and watched how to use them! It said our name, showed a picture and made music!

Loved doing this lesson with P1/2 today! Some brilliant discussion about beliefs, values and celebrations.
News from P1/2: today we learned about Eid as part of our learning about Islam. We made comparisons between Christmas and Eid, and learned lots about how Muslims celebrate Eid. We were fascinated by henna and mehndi and created our own designs #article14

A fab day at @KirkmichaelPS for the first of 4 numeracy events. Today’s focus was on technology through construction and building challenges, websites such as @tinkercad + @BBCSoundEffects and fun with @AJOBPickard using the codable tech from @SACTechDigital - such fun Amanda!
