I feel honoured everyday to be learning alongside this lot but even more so today for celebrating their last St. Andrew’s Day in Primary School. Super proud 💙🤍
We had a great time out this morning watching the Snow White Panto 🍎 Thank you for inviting us - the whole cast & crew were amazing

Through our class novel ‘Windrush Child’, we have been learning about Jamaica. Recently, we learned that they experience a lot of summer hurricanes. This afternoon, after learning about what hurricanes are and how they are formed, we created our own mini hurricanes! 💨
Another successful term in the bag - thank you for all of your hard work P7! Have a happy and safe Easter break … see you all after the holiday for your last ever term of primary school 🥲💙
Our Emotion Works display is really beginning to take shape as we develop our understanding of the Orange Cog. We enjoyed watching some of ‘Inside Out’ and using our new vocabulary to discuss feelings throughout 🧡
@EmotionWorksCIC
P7 were shocked to find our classroom had been ransacked during playtime! Using their inferencing skills, they worked to explore the clues and evidence. It was only a matter of time before the culprit was found! 🔎
And that’s a wrap! So proud of this bunch and all of the hard work they put in to making our show a success 🎬 Well done to you all! ⭐️

We started our journey of exploring the Green Cog
@EmotionWorksCIC
💚 We used the the Cogmas worksheet to list the Emotion Behaviours we were already aware of, and then used the Cog Poster along with the ‘Excitable Edgar’ advert to identify and sort further ones! 💚

Today we started our new topic, ‘Our World Around Us’ with a focus on our local area, Inverclyde! Using the laptops, we researched and discovered facts about Inverclyde. We found out about its history, attractions and more! Ask us about what we learned ⭐️
After having selected the Children’s Rights articles we felt most appropriate for our classroom last week, we got to work on creating our class charter today. We voted to design footballs to show we are ‘shooting for our goals’ ⚽️💙
Excellent team work skills on display this afternoon as we continued with our Project Based Learning! I can’t wait to see the final results of these projects after weeks of research taking place 🤩
This morning we revised ordering numbers in maths. We transferred this knowledge to our topic learning this afternoon, where we worked together to sequence the events leading up to the Empire Windrush setting sail in 1948 ⭐️
COGratulations to
@MissFlemingP7

We’ve been learning about the importance of fruit growing for many families in Jamaica. This afternoon, we had a go at trying some ourselves! Mango came out as our favourite but we didn’t love grapefruit! 🥭
We’ve been learning how to measure angles as accurately as possible using protractors. There was lots of enjoyment during this morning’s activity - we loved having a go at measuring angles actively ☺️
After learning about some Caribbean Islands as part of our class novel, we worked with partners this morning, using atlases to label our own maps of The Caribbean Islands 🗺️📍
We enjoyed another creative writing lesson from Mrs Keane this afternoon
@_stcolumba
📝 we loved describing famous TV characters and having the chance to create our own ⭐️
This morning we recapped our learning on explanation writing using Plicker boards. We had great discussions about our answers after our QR codes were scanned and results sent to the board! ⭐️
We’ve been learning about the yellow cog
@EmotionWorksCIC
⚙️ After discussing this cog as a class, we watched the short film ‘Dust Buddies’. In groups, we linked our new yellow cog learning to the others we’ve explored, using our storyboards to discuss the film 💛
@mrs_mcshane
Writing instructions as part of our functional writing block. We’re hoping these ones we wrote up today will help us later in the week with making some delicious hot chocolate ☕️
Today we worked to analyse a range of information that allowed us to identify what our class topic for this term would be. We can’t wait to learn more about Jamaica and the Windrush Generation ⭐️
We’ve been continuing to develop our understanding of using emotion words. This afternoon we watched ‘The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse’ and wrote down the various emotions we could identify throughout ⭐️
@EmotionWorksCIC
We’ve been learning to understand how the skill of ordering decimal fractions can help us within real-life contexts. After watching a clip from the Olympics, we ordered and compared the finishing times of the athletes 🏃♂️
We enjoyed a visit from the local community police this morning. They spoke about the power of reading and the importance of this for succeeding in our future dream careers 📖
