What better way to learn about the weight room than a scavenger hunt? Our #fitness class explored the OHS weight room in a hands-on way. Students worked in small groups to find and properly use equipment, answering questions along the way! ποΈπͺπ @osdAthleticdept

Such a fun day of glow-in-the-dark bowling with our ACE 9M class! Our kids showed off their bowling skills in a bright and bold way. Huge thanks to OMS Best Buddies for helping everything run smooth, and to all teachers, aides, and administrators for your help and support! π³ππ»

We met Matt from US Rugby at last yearβs NYSAHPERD conference, and after staying in touch, we were able to bring their team to OMS to introduce rugby to our classes. Our students loved it and we hope to implement rugby into our curriculum in the future! @osdAthleticdept

In our fitness class at OHS, students learned how to find their heart rate while doing different activities ππββοΈ. We then looked at the different heart rate zones compared to our classes results, as students self reflected on their own results. π§ @osdAthleticdept

Working on goal setting at OMS. Students not only wrote their own SMART goal, but will continue to work on their goal throughout the year!
Last week our students completed baseline fitness testing and chose 1 area to improve by setting a SMART Goal. Now weβre building those goals into warm-ups & workouts all year long. Excited to see their progress when we retest in the winter and spring! π π―
