Absolutely. She has refused, despite Beijing’s fury, to recant her statement that Japan will stand by Taiwan if China invades the island.

Japan’s new PM #SanaeTakaichi has infuriated #China by saying a military attack on #Taiwan could trigger a Japanese military response to defend Taiwan. Tokyo’s sharper military posture against China is good news for India. Latest issue of @Openthemag column out. My column

India beat SA by 9 wickets in the 3rd ODI with more than 10 overs to spare. Jaiswal hits unbeaten century. SA coach Conrad won’t be using the word “grovel” for a while.

Honoured to have received the award for the best factual presenter at the Asian Academy Creative Awards 2025. This would not have been possible without the amazing @wbd team and the @wideangle_films team who created magic through Legends Of Shiva. Har Har Mahadev!

@MinhazMerchant @Openthemag Very informative, Sir! Global relations are undergoing a sea change very fast that we have not seen for decades. The loose rhetoric of Trump and some harried and hurried announcements by POTUS seems to have disturbed world order a little. China, beset with their internal issues

Evidence of SAT cheating? Zero. Indians not only outperform Americans on SAT but have household incomes 100% higher than white Americans & contribute 6% to US tax with 1.5% of the population. All without the 300-year-long transatlantic slave trade & murder of Native Americans.

The Indians cheat on the SAT, that's why. When the Indians participate in an academic test on which they CANNOT cheat--the international PISA academic tests--they participated a single year, 2009, and scored near the bottom of all nations. They then quit and never participated

@MinhazMerchant @TOIPlus It's so interesting to consider the potential shifts in global dynamics over the next decade, and your perspective on India's emerging role as a Great Power with a multipower strategy is certainly thought-provoking. The idea of forging connections that span across Washington,

India will over the next 10 years emerge as a Great Power with alliances cutting a swathe across Washington, Beijing & Moscow. The #ModiPutin summit, watched closely by Western powers, marks the start of that multipower strategy. My ⁦@TOIPlus⁩ column

The West’s dishonest political & media establishment is in high dudgeon over #Putin’s India visit. Expect ex-colonials who thieved their way to wealth & power to rise in sanctimonious fury.

You just can't negotiate a good deal unless you are ready to walk away. Yes you can bluff, and get away, but that is not a strategy. That is a prayer. If your bluff is called out, your credibility maybe in tatters for many other negotiations. India must be ready to walk away
