Research group of Dr. Alan Sellinger, professor at Colorado School of Mines, designed and synthesized a molecule called EtCz3EPA, which forms stronger bonds within the solar cells, enhancing the connection between different parts of the cells.

Dr. Dean Dickerhoof passed away Jan. 9, 2024, in Midland, Texas. He was born on Nov. 9, 1935. Dean accepted a teaching position at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado in Dec. 1961. He taught undergraduate and graduate chemistry at Mines until his retirement in 2004.

At the ACS meeting in Chicago, Glory Russel-Parks entered into a student presentation competition hosted by the ENFL division. More than 60 students entered this competition, Glory was awarded 2nd place in a final oral session! Glory did amazing representing both Mines & NREL!

After two years of pandemic driven delays, the 2022 Rocky Mountain Catalysis Society Symposium was held. During this symposium, Mines Chemistry Ph.D. Candidate, Raiven I. Balderas (Advisor Dr. Ryan M. Richards) placed 2nd place in the student oral presentation awards. Congrats!

That was an AMAZING #EDays! What an adventure! From braving a frigid Clear Creek for the cardboard boat race to our ore cart pull and legendary fireworks show, this was truly an epic weekend! THANK YOU to all the students, staff and volunteers who made this happen!!
