The Minecraft Wiki has decided to leave Fandom and we finally have the new wiki up and ready! This allows us to bring many improvements such as significantly fewer ads and faster load times. Please see the following page for more details about the move.
Introducing Hey Wiki, a Java mod created by the Minecraft Wiki community that’ll let you easily look things up on the wiki while you’re in game.
All you have to do is to aim at a block, item or entity, and press H.

We’ve just hit 10,000 total articles, and the 10,000th was “Music Disc wait” ❗️
If you’re confused how this old disc is the 10,000th article, we’ll explain below
We’ve begun working on a mod that’ll let you easily look things up on the wiki while you’re in game.
It’s in early development, so stay tuned for its release! 🛠️
@regfunkid
I just realised that the inventory feature is called recipe book and the actual item is knowledge book but we don't have the budget for twitter blue or whatever that's called now so no takesies backsies
@MinecraftWikiEN
If you use a lava bucket as a fuel source in a furnace when smelting a wet sponge, the bucket will fill with water when the process is finished.
As a result of data driven enchantments being added in 24w18a, items now have tooltips that explain what some of the enchantments do. Only some of them though for some reason.
Here’s some examples:
This April Fools snapshot is HUGE! It’s gunna take us a bit to get all this stuff documented 😰
In case you didn’t know, we document everything about April Fools content! So come help us out, make some pages, do some edits, upload some images, you’re welcome to help!
We always documented all discs on the wiki, but none of them had their own pages. All discs were combined into the single “Music Disc” page. However we recently decide to have a separate article for each disc, so that’s why a page for this very old item is the 10,000th article :O
This “Minecraft Experience” can be seen on the Minecraft website, but it just takes you to the 15th anniversary page
…looks like Mojang leaked something on accident
Just a heads up:
We now formally prohibit the use of generative AI for editing purposes.
Please read the full policy (linked below) for further information, including exceptions.
Apologies, looking further into it, Minecraft is not coming to Steam, it was fake.
I mistakenly assumed Steam had some sort of measure in place to prevent random people doing something like this.
For an incredibly long time, we’ve referred to these mobs as Steve, Black Steve, and Beast Boy. But we’ve realised that, well… there’s actually no source for these names.
So, this might be a shot in the dark but,
@notch
@docky
do either of you know their true original names?
In case you didn’t know, Indie Wiki Buddy is a browser extension that redirects you from Fandom to the forked Minecraft Wiki.
You never have to worry about clicking a Fandom link again, woah!
Link to download it is in the replies, go check it out 👇👇👇
Did you know that baby variants of squids and glow squids exist, but only in Bedrock Edition?
It’s one of the less talked about parity differences, but here’s hoping they find their way to Java! 🦑
We are excited to announce to the Minecraft community that the first six non-English language versions of the Minecraft Wiki have now also moved to their own new websites! Read more about this and how you can help in our article:
Hello Tweeters, it’s me, Ivor from the mediocrely rated 2015 video game Minecraft Story Mode!
I recently took up wiki editing and the idiots gave me access to the Twitter account, genuinely no clue what they were thinking.
Anyway, give me some cool funny questions I’m bored.
For the 15th anniversary, Google has added this little version of Minecraft that you play inside of Google
You can access it by googling “Minecraft” and clicking the grass block icon at the bottom of the screen
A new article has released, giving us a good look at all the new tuff and copper blocks coming to snapshots and betas soon!
Will you be building with these blocks? 🤔
@NyxieeeeeNyxie
seriously, how AI can be used for accessibility is quite interesting. really a shame that microsoft doesn't seem to be looking into it. but LLMs now have a lot of problems that needs to be solved, hallucination being the worst. anyway I'm glad to see that it's potentially useful
We’d like to thank each and every one of you for the incredible support the move has received over the past few days. We will continue to work hard to provide everyone a quality and user friendly wiki.
From the editors at the Minecraft Wiki, thank you ❤️
It’s been almost a month since we became independent 🥳
Wondering how things have been going and what we’ve been up to? Well wonder no more!
Check out this update for a retrospective on our move from Fandom, changes we’ve made since the move, and more!
Vault renders from the wiki!
These are pre-release renders, so the colours aren’t 100% accurate, but they get the job done while we wait for the snapshot/preview to release.
Thank you all so much for 2000 followers on Twitter! Our follower count has sky rocketed since we moved to the new site and we couldn’t be more grateful for the support! ❤️
Now that all three mobs have been revealed, which mob will YOU be voting for at Minecraft Live?
- The crab, with its claw that extends placing range
- The armadillo, with its scutes that craft wolf armor
- Or the penguin, with its ability to increase boat speed
AWESOME video by
@mossbag

New video! The Hollow Knight wiki just forked from Fandom, but they are far from the only one to do so in recent times. Minecraft, WOW, Dead Cells, Pizza Tower, RuneScape, Terraria, Fallout and many more have all left Fandom as well. Let's talk about why that is. Please share!
