Momentum is real, that’s why I think you should save failure for later in the game with a closer score, so it’s soul crushing and you have less time to mentally recover.

If momentum is sports is real, wouldn’t you rather get a 2pt failure out of the way early? You’d rather be kicking an easy extra point later when the pressure is much higher, and you’d rather be trying to get a game-winning field goal after several successes build confidence?

This is such an interesting argument because it boils down to feeling better about losing vs. ignoring feelings to maximize the chance to win, and in general people tend to take the opposite side on this than they would on social or political issues.
@gregolsen88 Analytically, that is absolutely correct. The counterpoint would be the human element of a team’s mindset/mentality only being down one score instead of two. Right or wrong, there is some unquantifiable aspect to the belief & confidence of knowing you’re only down one score.

This call didn’t bother me live, because it seemed too hard to tell if the ball hit ground on initial rollover. But it never occurred to me to look at the ball hitting the ground the second time (at the very end), and I suspect the quick replay assist didn’t look at that either.
#Colts HC Shane Steichen said he was going to challenge this 5-yard catch by #Chiefs TE Noah Gray on third-and-8 late in the 4Q, but the officials told him that replay assist stepped in and ruled it a catch. So, Steichen kept his challenge (and timeout).

He wanted it for Damian Lillard, as an early made-do present because the Bucks were going to unceremoniously cut him from the team.

It is astonishing how many people are being condescending in the comments -- despite apparently having zero clue that Giannis did not want the ball for himself at all. It had nothing to do with him scoring a career high.

Oh, so Giannis understands how nice it is to let a rookie who scored his first points keep the game ball all of a sudden, huh? Interesting.
Giannis is a REAL ONE 💯 The Lakers wanted the game ball for Adou Thiero, who scored his first NBA points, but the refs were not allowing it. Giannis stepped in and secured it for the young fella ❤️

The jerseys can (and should) change over the years, but the Pacers should switch back to these colors permanently.

I’m not saying the Pacers read every piece of design feedback I’ve ever tweeted and took it to heart. But if they did, this is exactly what they’d come up with. Amazing.

He would have gotten paid anyway if he was awesome in the Finals, and probably still would have if he was merely solid. But he stunk, and the Pacers are too nice to explicitly say that to him. For all involved, Hali’s injury (a factor of course) is a convenient all-in scapegoat.
Myles Turner says the Pacers no longer wanted him after Tyrese Haliburton injury “Everybody gassed me up all year long —‘You’re going to get taken care of.’ Then, the unfortunate situation happens in the Finals with Tyrese, and I guess the front office and ownership just changed

If Mac McClung wins the dunk contest this year, the Indiana Pacers will have four dunk champions all-time. They would be 2nd all-time in both total dunk trophies and different dunk champions in NBA history.

All-Star Game this year should have a new dunk contest format: the Indiana Pacers vs. The World. McClung/Toppin/Furphy/Huff vs Any four dudes, doesn’t matter
