We create a political violence profile (PVP) from these variables which predicts support for 1/6 riots -- even stronger than Trump support. Those most supportive of Trump & highest in PVP most supportive. Psych, political, & social factors outweigh identity, SES, etc.

As 1/6 hearings underway, do we know who supports political violence? . Using machine learning algorithm,.Enders & I show it isn't partisan. Victimhood, racial animus, white ID, authoritarianism, military service, & populism are biggest predictors.

We also find, in other work (with Dave Buckley) in @PolBehavior that white identity, conspiracism, and victimhood relate to support for violence, and exacerbate the effect of Christian nationalism on violence.

These are not abstractions. These aren't lone wolves. Certain attitudes systematically underscore support for using violent action to achieve political goals. By another name, that's terrorism. Forthcoming in @PoPpublicsphere.
