Could be wrong but I feel like the power of budew comes from the way we are forced to build our decks because of the turn 1 rules and the number of turns in a game on average. Budew isn't a game breaking card in raw power but the way the game is played in standard makes it strong.

To the budew discussion, was this card viable in its format outside of evolution?

Idk if I am right but I just don't like the direction of banning cards like DCE, FOGP, and Raikou when they are kind of just an identity cards of the deck and gives a reason to make it feel fun and a little broken. Format feels a little over balanced atm.

I would love to see something like ace specs which are goofy and unbalanced but give a really interesting decision and staleness that decks have imo. Ace specs would always be a fun deckbuilding debate but is "unbalenced".

If I were in control of the format I would make it more goofy and "unbalanced" as I feel that deckbuilding is a little linear in the format. I would ban fan rotom as that card kills progression and sets up the whole board. I would also ban parallel as that punishes stage 2s HARD.

I feel the balancing in this format is making it more "fair" but less interesting. In my opinion "balancing" isn't about making the format more fair but rather more fun. We can perfectly balance a format and play Victini VMAX mirriors.
