First and second in the Arc (at decent prices taken) to end my horse race tipping/betting years. Good way to finish, I think.

I'm pretty much done with horse racing and hate Chester. However, I quite like Al Shabab Storm 10/1 EW with Skybet, four places provided that eight run. Down from 14 to ten runners at the time of writing.

If you were inclined, Skybet was the place to bet No5 seed Draper and/or No6 seed Shelton outright. Thanks to Skybet's injury rules, you've not lost your money. Stakes are returned.

This morning's updated quarter betting on the exchange. Two back prices, 1.3 Iga or 15.0 Tjen, who's no longer in the competition!:

Muchova, when 4-1 down appeared to be wiping away tears? Recovers to take the tie-break 7-0. Is she carrying an injury (not visible)? BTW, who is "Moo-hova"? (Commentators, skysports).

You'll have seen from a previous tweet that I'm on Muchova at 14/1 for quarter three. She's still 12/1 with Sky (11/1 PP) and is as short as 6/1 elsewhere. Gets Cirstea next, who is in terrific form. However, KM holds a 5-1 H2H, including the latest three in straight sets.

Jack's injured, isn't he? May not win this match, let alone the tournament. .

The same logic applies to Emma R. After her first round win today, she's 25/1 or less to win the tournament, yet 66/1 ew 1/5th odds 123 for SPOTY. I'm not suggesting you bet her in isolation for the latter, but if you're taking 25s, you should consider 66 ew for SPOTY!.

1/3 Some thoughts on SPOTY. In 2021, when Emma R was about halfway through her US Open win, she was about 20/1 for the title. At the same time, she was 50 Betfair for SPOTY. Of course, she won both. In 1997, Rusedski won SPOTY (Tim H 2nd) despite losing the US Open final. .

3/3 to back him, he's 66s several firms. Of course market is dominated by footy girls CK & HH. I'm on both at big prices but my fear now is they will both be nominated and that will split the vote. All very speculative of course and needs to reach final to be nominated I think.

2/3 Neither GR or TH won a GS. This year, Jack Draper is between 14/1 & 25/1 to win US Open. He gets a favourable ew mention from tennis expert @seancalvert1 . He is 100/1, 1/5th odds 123 Skybet for SPOTY. If you are (or have) backed him for tennis success, then it makes sense. .

2/2 Muchova was a semi-finalist last year and looks in good shape to repeat that achievement @ 14/1 with several firms. I've added Osaka @ 9/2 (WH, but generally 4/1). So these are my two players to get the better of the two Americans the market expects to contest this qtr-final.

1/2 York was no good this week. We now have the distraction of the US Open tennis. I've backed so many women AP that I feel certain to lose on the event! Not withstanding this, I've taken a position on Q3. I've opposed Gauff & Keys, the favs. Taken the 14/1 injury prone Muchova. .

Interesting film to be released 5 September. "On Swift Horses" (not me this week!). Intriguing and worth checking out, I suggest: .

2/2 There may not be the swing towards high numbers that looked possible on Thursday. I've therefore added the consistent Chief Mankato (3) to my earlier bets, 18/1 ew with Sky (six places) or 20/1 five places with Will Hill. Good luck today in what's been a tricky week.

1/2 The two suggested yesterday for 16:10Y today are both drawn high. Part of the reason for choosing was because they both ran very well LTO from poor draws. The ultimate irony is they may have poor draws today. Looking at the 5f Fri (non-hcap), they finished 5-3-6-8 (17ran). .

I seldom bet in non-hcap sprints but have been tempted by 15:35Y Jm Jungle at 10/1 EW four places with B365. .
