TRAGIC! President Trump “gets it.” Crime and accountability for committing crime is a serious problem across the nation. There is no freedom to be a violent criminal. We need to protect citizens, reserve our empathy for victims, and get tougher.

Today I caught up with other members of the West Virginia National Guard who are doing great and important work in DC. Always honored to meet and thank these great protectors of the public.

Thank you President Trump for targeting violent crime in DC. This summer on the street outside my DC apartment- 2 shootings , 1 stabbing, robberies, and a big gang fight. Now? It’s never felt or been safer. It’s night and day. Thank you to all those working to protect our people.

Glad to see the focus on crime in DC. Another big problem? “Fare thieves” on the Metro. I now ride DC Metro often. Rare to NOT see “stall jumpers.” The annual cost to DC? $40-$50 MILLION every year. Post a cop at every station and watch $$ soar.

A full year tomorrow, middle schooler Cohen Craddock died from a football injury. One year later, no investigation, no report issued, and no closure for the family. Unacceptable by any measure. A systemic failure. ⁦@wvssac⁩ ⁦⁦@WVGOP⁩

Tragic terrible news about Doug Skaff’s passing. Prayers for peace and comfort to his family and loved ones.

Given the incredible bias to SEC even in baseball and its “crashing and burning” so far, I wouldn’t be surprised to see SEC seek guaranteed spots in Omaha.

I don’t know the facts behind this case but I do know that WV’s child welfare system is a total absolute friggin disaster. I’ve called for a deep dive investigation. I sponsored big legislation. House Leadership killed it. WE NEED TO FIX IT!

I introduced the biggest overhaul of lobbying and ethics rules in a generation. WV Senate Republicans, however, killed the bill in Rules. Dead it may be but it doesn’t change the fact that reform and transparency are desperately needed. ⁦@WVGOP⁩
