Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey just vetoed an ordinance that would've required the city to provide toilets, collect trash and give more notice before forcing out inhabitants of homeless encampments. Frey says it would push Minneapolis backward by encouraging dangerous encampments

Icy sidewalks are a failure of government. This is a public right-of-way. Foisting maintenance on homeowners and businesses that pay property taxes is a shallow attempt at shirking responsibility on property the city has a responsibility to maintain.
Getting to the point in the snowfall/mashdown/melt/freeze cycle where property owners who've taken no action to shovel should be eligible for aggravated assault charges.
