Phil Nevin is a good guy. He got life-threatening sick this season and missed his son’s MLB debut because of it. In one of his first games back after being sick, he got ejected from a game. He always brought that passion and energy. Wish him well in the future.
Cashman signed Adam Ottavino. Brodie signed Familia.
Cashman signed LeMahieu. Brodie signed Lowrie.
But hey, let’s troll Cashman for acquiring the guy with the most HRs in the AL. Sure. That makes sense.
Didi Gregorius in 2017:
Home: .251/.281/.426
Away: .321/.354/.528
Gary Sanchez:
OPS was higher on the road in 2017 and 2018
Giancarlo Stanton in 2018
Home: .229/.311/.468
Road: .300/.374/.547
You can always make stats work in your favor. It’s not hard.
Things I believe:
1. Tanaka was intentional.
2. It should have ended there.
3. Chapman's pitch was scary bad. 4. Cash's postgame comments were irresponsible.
5. The Yankees are still holding onto to Kitteredge and 2018 with Romine
6. Both teams chirp.
7. Both teams are wrong
This is the Jeter montage that aired after his walkoff in his final home game. It was put together by one of the best EVS operators in the country, Paul Zecca. It’s awesome.
The Yankees 43-16 record is not the best 59 game stretch under Boone. They had a 44-15 stretch from April 13 - June 21 in 2018. It wasn't to begin the season like this year but still was surprised to see that.
I faced Adam Ottavino in High School. Nastiest Slider I had ever seen. Knee-Buckling is much too pedestrian to describe the damage it did to me in the box. In my defense I avoided the K. Shallow Fly to Center. Felt like a win.
Just received text, was just told YES was instructed by the Yankees to be prepared to add an emergency "Hot Stove Show" at 2 PM as they believe there is a chance the Soto deal could be done by lunch.
The majority of the men and women who bring you Yankees baseball on YES aren’t employed by YES. They are freelancers. Camera, EVS/Replay operators, video, graphic operators, TDs, stage managers, runners, utility, audio, scorebug, and plenty more. They need the games to get paid.
In 2017, the most hits Severino allowed in a game was 9. It was at Houston.
In 2017, the most runs Betances allowed in a game was 4. It was at Houston.
Was it poor performance or cheating? Did it cost Betances money in arbitration?
As Boone said yesterday: “great unknowns”
That pitch changed the entire inning. It was extremely close. 2 on and nobody out or 0 on and 2 out. And I still haven't seen a replay of that pitch.
But Base Cam. Ok
Yankees win AL East tease that aired last night.

Everyone has their own emotions when it comes to 9/11. Mine have been impacted deeply by my friendship with

posted her story earlier. Jack was able to update her story last year on Baseball Stories. Pearl Jam and an awesome wedding. Please watch
Really excited for the Jon Heyman (aka Scott Boras) Gerrit Cole "mystery team" tweet at the winter meetings... I'm thinking it will happen Tuesday, but could be Monday
"Gary Sanchez, after seven seasons with the Yankees and before that with the club’s farm teams, still can’t be bothered. He still relies on an interpreter, still as deficient in English as he is in fundamental baseball skills and awareness"
I wonder what columnist wrote this?
I have to stay awake to hear Gabe Morales explain the call… oh nevermind, you won’t hear from him and he won’t be held accountable for ruining the ending of a great game.
Twins - June 10
Angels - June 30
Astros - July 11
Red Sox - Tonight.
4 games with a multi-run lead in the 9th. 4 losses.
Win those games, you are 54-41 instead of 50-45 and in possession of the 2nd wild card.

Did he say he didn't want to deal with the NY media? A lot of cities have tough media. Maybe he's a 23 year old kid and wanted to be 5 hours closer to his home country. I mean holy shit, the world doesn't revolve around NYC all the time
Jessica Mendoza is either:
1) Speaking as an ESPN employee in which she is asking for less transparency in sports and as a media member, that sucks.
2) Speaking as a Mets employee in which case I'm pretty sure Manfred offered a stern warning against that.
Anyway... ouch.
2003 ALCS GAME 7:
Mike Mussina and Mariano Rivera had identical pitching lines:
3.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K
Arguably Mussina’s best Yankees moment and Rivera’s greatest performance?

I’ve had many thoughts during these last 40 days at home... like I wonder if the dude who dropped his engagement ring during a Yankee Stadium proposal is happily married...stuff like that.
funny story: my replay operator sold me this replay by saying “CC pointed to the Rays dugout and said ‘that’s for you.’” He showed me but stopped it before it got to the b**** part. I sold it to my producer and we aired it and obviously stayed with it through b****. Whoops. 🤣🤦♂️
