#Oasis
released their first single ‘Supersonic’. We did the sleeve artwork, along with everything else Oasis released in the 90’s. A Microdot sleeve - made in
#Wales
1994.
And we're off! Before we had settled on the idea of shooting the sleeve in Bonehead’s house, Liam’s ‘concept’ for the artwork was a knife in a lump of butter – true story!
#timstwitterlisteningparty
Did you know - Bonehead used the same Epiphone Riviera on every Oasis recording and at every Oasis gig in the 90's and still plays the same guitar when live with Liam these days. Here it is at The Water Rats, London in 1994.
Round at Bonehead's house yesterday photographing him photographing his Epiphone Riviera. That guitar was used on every
#Oasis
record in the 90’s and played at every gig. Some history to that instrument!

played Sheffield Arena - backstage before the gig here - left to right, Richard Ashcroft, me, Liam, Noel. Photo by Grant Fleming.
The first thing I did for the band was the logo - inspired by the Decca Records logo seen on a Rolling Stones album - here's the prototype in which I used an approximation of the Adidas font - before changing it.

'Some Might Say' - released 25 years ago today. My favourite of all the Oasis sleeves I did. Featuring my Dad with the wheel barrow & my Mum with the mop. A Microdot sleeve - made in England 1995.
Oasis 'Morning Glory' sleeve test shot. Me walking down Berwick Street a week or so before the final shoot. Note I am wearing the same Burberry jacket as on the sleeve.
GIVEAWAY TIME.
#Oasis
guitar legend Bonehead in the Microdot Boutique today with a copy of Definitely Maybe on vinyl he signed. To win the record FOLLOW US and RETWEET - winner announced mid November.
Tonight at my Dad’s house I have found a piece of rock n roll history. The flat cap he was wearing on the front cover of Oasis ‘Some Might Say’ 23 years ago!
Masterplan – sleeve concept - The young boy at the front of the class represents an 11 year old Noel Gallagher schooling his elders on music. My Mum and Dad can be seen ringed in red – appearing on their 3rd Oasis sleeve.

My concept for the Shakermaker artwork - my hand at the bottom of the sleeve presses play on an Oasis cassette - the track plays and the whole room melts. Simple.
As Noel can't read or write music we got a music professor from the Royal College to write out the correct notation for the song 'Masterplan' - that's what's on the blackboard on the cover.

'Some Might Say' - released 24 years ago today. My favourite of all the Oasis sleeves I did. Featuring my Dad with the wheel barrow & my Mum with the mop. A Microdot sleeve - made in England 1995.
Incredibly rare pre press printers proof of Roll With It. Only 2 copies exist, Noel has one - this one is mine. Shot on Weston Super Mare beach, closest beach to Glastonbury where they played that weekend.

Spectacularly rare shot of
@liamgallagher
in Wigan 1997 on the shoot for the D’You Know What I Mean? sleeve. Taken by Mike Gore who was one of the extras in the crowd. Totally previously unpublished shot that I only saw myself for the first time yesterday.
I was at Rockfield during the whole recording session - doing 'research' for the sleeve artwork. Here I am with Liam doing research and rocking out in the control room after recording had finished and we were playing back.

24 years ago today was the first of two nights
#Oasis
played their first stadium gigs at Maine Road, Manchester. I very very nearly fell out of the upper tier of the stand I was going so mental - luckily I didn't and saw the second night, those were the days.
Out take from the Roll With It session - it was red hot that day and the lads had to sit there in duffel coats!. The TV's are all Panasonics rented from a shop in Wigan - Sony wouldn't lend them us!

The original artwork - in my handwriting used for the text on the sleeve. This is the original copy and will be on display at the Microdot Boutique once we re open.
Super rare - only one made Some Might Say pre press proof - notice no logo or text on it. My Dad pushing the wheel barrow, my Mum with the mop, barmaid from my local with the brolly and Matt Sankey as the beggar.

First ever Oasis artwork mock up - obviously never going to be the sleeve - just wanted to see how the logo worked. The first and only outing for the prototype logo. That's the original Supersonic mock up.
Here's a little know fact that I hadn't revealed before today - When I designed the programme for the Oasis Knebworth gigs, I based the tickets on the front cover entirely on the Beatles tickets used at the Hollywood Bowl.
25 years ago today we shot the cover image for

Morning Glory. Here’s the Burberry jacket I wore on sleeve - now on display in the Microdot Boutique.

I am The Walrus vinyl 12" label - one of the rarest Oasis records of all. I got the 'Other Side Doesn't Play' off an old punk record I had - I thought it was funny cos the other side had no grooves so obviously couldn't play!
