Been thinking about this as it applies to IDEs. I think @cursor_ai wins because of velocity around AI-relevant features and quality of what ships for AI specifically. But personally I do like that @zeddotdev seems focused on creating a great IDE in general.
The only thing that matters in consumer software is velocity of shipping. You will regularly be wrong about what people want: no one is a perfect psychologist. But if you are out at the frontlines with concepts everyday, your team will have their finger on the pulse of users and

From conversations I've had with others, you can reliably replace "program" with a number of other fields AI is impacting and just the same you'll hear a train of excuses.
People who don't want to learn how to program can always find a reason why not to. This time it's AI, last time it was that tech was over because the Internet Bubble burst, the time before that it was that all the programming jobs were going to be outsourced to India.
