Dr. Matthew Rivara, associate professor (Nephrology) has accepted the position of Chief Medical Officer for Northwest Kidney Centers, effective Sept 1. For the last 9 years, Dr Rivara has been a part of the NKC medical staff, including medical director at Broadway & Elliott Bay.

If these tasks are important enough to assign someone to do, they should be important enough for promotion. Why aren’t they valued?
NPTs: Non Promotable Tasks Definitely something that leaders need to track given disparities! Women (and no doubt those who are URiM) do far more of these! 200+ more hrs/yr‼️😳

I was just at #investinher 3-day program. Research was presented on this showing the same thing in other specialties. It’s not ok but we have to collect the data to show that it’s real, not anecdotal.
Disappointing that after a great night at @womeninnephro, one female presenter is called by her first name several times rather than Dr X like the other speakers at the High Impact Trials Session. Is it from familiarity/likability? Is that ok? #KidneyWk
