I often lose track of what’s normal vs. exceptional within certain baseball statistics. Below is a cheat sheet showing how various hitting stats are distributed. Vertical dashed lines represent the median for each stat.

Top 10 whiff rates by pitch type throughout 2024, starting with fastballs (secondaries coming up next). Reed Garrett is the only pitcher to break the top 10 for three different pitches: sinker, cutter, and splitfinger. @jaseidler move him to the rotation?

Performance of notable Mets hitting prospects in September. Jett Williams finished strong in AAA after a slow start rehabbing in AA. Luisangel Acuña had one of the worst months in the entire system and promptly caught fire after a call-up to replace Francisco Lindor.
