Cold this morning? I took this shot from over a FROZEN Knoxville on Jan 21st, 1985. Yes, I did fly and had all I could do to keep the plane engine warm by flying full power with full flaps. My speed was much lower than normal.

THP Tennessee Highway Patrol finally stopped this guy in East Knox County after flying through Downtown Knoxville at over 110 MPH. Watching this from the air, I was amazed that no one was injured or killed.

37 years ago this morning it was 24 BELOW zero ! Yes, this is what it look like from the air. I had to fly at full power with full flaps in order to keep the engine warm enough to stay airborne. When I got back on the ground my diesel Oldsmobile would not run. The fuel gelled up.

A few months ago I followed the slowest high speed chase I've ever seen from the air. At this point, the van had a fatal dose of spike strips and all tires were flap. Knoxville Police showed incredible patience and self control. I-40 EB at I640 east end
