In a tiny village where everyone knows everyone, there were assumptions that the murder would be easily solved. But in the past nearly 40 years, rumors have swirled, witnesses and private investigators have been threatened, and a mother still waits for answers.

Jim and his friends were questioned by police and by private investigators. Witnesses came forward to report that they had seen Kristin walking and had seen the 2 men behind her.

That Friday, Kristin was found by police, firefighters, and volunteers during a search for the young woman. There in a cornfield, just up the road from the trailer, Kristin was lying naked and fatally wounded by several knife wounds. She had put up quite a fight.
