Day 5 #MerseyRiversWeek2025 sees the launch of our new Mersey Rivers Youth Forum for 11 -17 year olds. We want to hear from young people what their priorities are for improving the Mersey rivers for people & wildlife. Our first Youth Forum group will focus on Greater Manchester.

Day 5 of #MerseyRiversWeek2025 on the River Mersey in Trafford, Manchester & Stockport. Through our work as host of the #UpperMersey catchment partnership, we have been talking to partners & community groups to identify new habitat & river access improvements along the river.

Day 4 of #MerseyRiversWeek2025. Today we held a #Bioblitz at Riverside Park in Macclesfield with Bollin Brook and Prestbury Primary school. 50 children throughout the day enjoyed learning about moths and river invertebrates! . Keep an eye on socials for more events!

Day 3 of #MerseyRiversWeek2025 we also had. a River Guardian Celebration Event!🎉 It was a wonderful day with the River Guardians, consisting of a refresher RMI Riverfly session, water quality testing, and of course, cake! 😄🔎

Day 3 of #MerseyRiversWeek2025. Saw a guided walk along the River Irk from Manchester Victoria Station to Queen's Park in North Manchester. We are working with partners on the.#LoveYourRiverIrk community programme to engage local people with their river.

#MerseyRiversWeek2025 Day 2: water quality sampling event at Whittle Brook, Warrington. MRT & @unitedutilities volunteers analysed the samples for ammonia & phosphorus. Part of our citizen science monitoring programme across the Mersey helping inform design of river improvements.
