The symbolism is striking to me. Butterflies are often beautiful and vibrant... You don't usually associate them with decay.
This is very funny to me since butterflies are actually as dirty and filth as flies. Like butterflies often feed on decaying animals, rotten fruit, blood, animal feces, urine and sometimes even tears. Looks and appearance can change everything.
